Garage insulation is important if you want to avoid issue with damp and condensation. It’s especially important if you use the garage as part of your home, or if you store important items in there. You can consider the following options to improve garage insulation:
- Autoclaved aerated concrete blocks. These are lightweight blocks that are easy to build with and have excellent thermal insulating properties. They are perfect for use in garages and outbuildings.
- Fibreglass batts. Use these in between wall studs and ceiling studs to create a better insulated interior. Fibreglass insulation is easy to install.
- Rigid foam. Use these to help insulate the floor or the walls. They are most often used in garages and basements.
- Fibreglass doors. An old or ill-fitting garage door can allow lots of cold air to enter. Choose a new door with better thermal properties to keep drafts out of your garage space.
